Grambling community remembers resident

Funeral service was held for Loye Jean Daniel Ford, long time resident of Grambling Tuesday, Aug. 31 at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She passed from this life on Tuesday, Aug. 24, at 12:28 p.m. at the North Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston.

Mrs. Ford was born December 13, 1934 in Arcadia to Dillard and Bessie Daniel.

"There is light at the end of the tunnel," said Gramblinite Jalissa Amber Meredith, Miss Black Illinois USA 2011.

Meredith is grateful for the opportunity to serve.

"It has been amazing. I am so blessed to have this opportunity and thankful that the committee for the Miss Black USA organization would choose me.
