McNeese's Kappa Alpha order raised more than $1,000 for the Fontenot family, which lost two members several weeks ago when a car slammed into the back of the family's Jeep Cherokee.

Nine-year-old Holly Fontenot died at the scene of the accident and her mother Colette Fontenot two days later in a Baton Rouge hospital.

According to KA fund raisers, the group wanted to help alleviate some of the funeral, hospital and missed work costs that were left to other members of the family.

KA delivered the funds the same night they were raised, according to a KA representative.
