Recently at the Theta Chi Midyear Leadership Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, two members of the Theta Rho chapter at McNeese were on hand to receive the Henry B. Hersey Award for Significant Increase in Membership Award. "We received this award because of our growth during the 2008-2009 school year. We grew 110% from April to April," says Tim Rye, newly elected president of Theta Rho chapter. Rye and Daniel Dufour were both representing the chapter and on hand to receive the award. "A few short years ago, our chapter was reduced to only one active brother. Now we are up to 15 actives, which spreads the philanthropic workload around and makes it easier for us to raise money for charities and other causes on our campus and in our community," says Dufour. "We're going to continue recruiting leaders into our honored brotherhood, to make our chapter and campus a better place to go to school."
Theta Chi is a men's social fraternity that is heavily involved in campus and community activities. For more information, feel free to attend an open meeting, which are held every Sunday at 6 p.m. in the Burton Conference Center.
