Ladies and gentlemen, hell has officially frozen over.

That's right the New Orleans Saints are going to the Super Bowl.

I'm sure this is not shocking news to any of you, as it is being shoved down your throats by every media outlet and casual fan in the state of Louisiana, but after 43 years of pain and suffering-from the bags over our heads in the 80s to the horrific season we endured due to hurricane Katrina-Nawlins is playing for a World Championship.

So whether you are a true diehard Saints fan, or one of those Louisianians who figured you would jump on the bandwagon once you heard that they were undefeated halfway through the season-and still can't manage to name anyone on the team other than Drew Brees and Jeremy Shockey-sit on down, grab a bowl of gumbo, and get ready watch what is sure to be one of the most exciting Super Bowls in recent memory.

Before we break down Super Bowl XLIV, let's see what the Saints had to get through to be here.

The 13-0 Start: Yes it may be hard to believe, but the "Aints" actually started a season comparable to the average year of teams like the Patriots, Colts, and Chargers. The win streak was highlighted by huge victories over the New England Patriots and the New York Giants. It was sometime in between 6-0 and 13-0 where a majority of the "bandwagoners" jumped onto the Who Dat Express and have ridden with us the rest of the way.

The 0-3 Finish: After punishing all who opposed them for three and a half months-except the Redskins, but we won't talk about that, a win is a win in my book-we started to look like the Saints of old. The first loss came at the hands of America's team, the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys did an excellent job of keeping Drew Brees and the Saints offense on the sideline, holding possession of the ball for the better part of 37 minutes. From there the Saints went on to flop in games against the Buccaneers and Panthers-luckily home field advantage was clinched in week 15 due to a Vikings loss.

Divisional Playoff Round: This is where every sports anchor in America gave up hope on the Saints. After putting up an unheard of 51 points on a stout Green Bay Packers defense the week before, the Arizona Cardinals were expected to fly into the Crescent City and absolutely pummel the Saints.

Well I don't know if you've ever been inside the Super Dome, let alone whenever Reggie Bush returns a punt for a touchdown, but the decibel level gets high enough to make one's ear bleed. After an 83-yard punt return and an ESPN top ten 47-yard touchdown run from the former Heisman winner, the Dome was just about loud enough to trigger an earthquake in New Orleans big enough to re-break the levies.
